JavaScript with a static type system that erases at compile time. Types describe the shape of data and the contracts between modules, so refactors and API changes surface as compile errors instead of runtime surprises. It adds enums, interfaces, generics, narrowing through type guards and a declaration-file ecosystem, and supports gradual adoption — a file with implicit any is still valid JavaScript.
